Special Leaf Recycling collection returns Jan. 13

Monday, December 25 2017 9:00 AM

Community Waste Disposal, Colleyville’s trash and recycling service provider, will run special collection routes to recycle bagged leaves starting in December. The special days are Saturday, Dec. 2, Dec. 9, Jan. 6, and Jan. 13.

The collections begin at 10 a.m. to allow additional time for residents to rake and bag leaves. CWD will also pick up and recycle Christmas trees on those special collection days in January. Just remember to remove all decorations and do not bag up the tree.

To participate, residents just need to set out leaves bagged in Kraft bags on the designated collection days. CWD will still collect leaves in plastic bags set out on regular garbage collection days but these will just go to the landfill. If residents set out craft bags for leaf recycling a few days early CWD will leave them for the Saturday collections. With that in mind, residents should be aware of and comply with their Homeowner Association’s policies.
