Dave Lieber, the national-award winning “Watchdog” columnist, first for the Star-Telegram, and for the past decade at The Dallas Morning News, shares his two most recent books which have both been performed as plays in the past several months.

He profiles two North Texas superstars in both the plays and the companion books. AMON! The Ultimate Texan is the story of Amon Carter, who ruled the region for 50 years through his ownership of the Star-Telegram, WBAP and Channel 5. It was named best new play by a local playwright. Performed almost 50 times, the play is now on a statewide tour.

His second book (and play) is SEARCHING FOR PEROT – My Journey to Discover Texas’ Top Family. It’s a memoir of the ups and downs of trying to cover one of Texas’ most prominent families.
