Property Tax
Property taxes play a crucial role in funding essential services within our community, including public safety, infrastructure maintenance, and various community programs. Each year, the City of Colleyville sets a property tax rate that balances the need for revenue to support these services with our commitment to keeping taxes as low as possible. Our philosophy is to set the lowest rate necessary to maintain high-quality services, requesting increases only when absolutely needed.
In FY 2025, Colleyville introduced a new 7% homestead exemption that helps reduce the tax burden on residential homeowners by shifting some of the responsibility to non-homestead residential and commercial properties. This change reflects our dedication to providing relief to homeowners while ensuring continued support for the City's operations and services.
The City of Colleyville partners with the Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District (GCISD) to collect property taxes on our behalf. For any questions about your tax bill, please contact GCISD’s tax office at 817-481-1242 or visit them online. Property assessments, which determine the value of your home for tax purposes, are managed by the Tarrant Appraisal District (TAD). You can reach TAD for inquiries or assistance at 817-284-0024 or online. For information on other property taxes not set by the City, please contact the Tarrant County Tax Assessor-Collector’s office at 817-884-1100 or online.
We encourage residents to reach out to the Finance Department if they have any questions about the City’s property tax rates or our approach to tax management.

The M&O rate funds the City’s day-to-day operational costs, including public safety, infrastructure maintenance, and general services. The I&S rate is dedicated to repaying debt obligations for capital projects, such as new facilities, major equipment, or infrastructure improvements.
The table below displays the total property tax rate for properties within the City of Colleyville, based on the specific Independent School District (ISD) in which the property is located.
