SH26 construction activity planned this week on SH26 from John McCain to Brown Trail includes sidewalk and curb placement, irrigation sleeve installation and permanent foundations for traffic signal installation throughout the project limits. Due to weather last week, a traffic switch is now planned to begin on Monday, April 13 to open remaining lanes to traffic and may take approximately five workdays to complete (weather permitting). After the traffic switch is completed, daily lane closures will still occur to perform various construction activities throughout the project limits.

SH26 construction activity continues with work on the west side of the project from Hall-Johnson Road to Centerpark Drive that includes sidewalk, railing, and retaining wall installation. Permanent traffic signal installation will continue throughout the project limits. Irrigation installation and topsoil installation in the center medians will begin before the end of the month.

Activity this week included work on the west side of SH26 from Hall-Johnson Road to Centerpark Drive performing sidewalk retaining wall installation and permanent traffic signal foundation installation throughout the project limits. Irrigation installation and topsoil installation is planned to begin in near future in the center medians.

SH26 construction activity will begin again on December 30 with work on the west side of SH26 from Hall-Johnson Road to Centerpark Drive including sidewalk retaining wall installation and permanent traffic signal foundation installation throughout the project limits. Irrigation installation and topsoil installation is planned to begin in near future in the center medians. No construction activity will occur on December 31 and January 1 due to the holiday.
Project Update: Week of December 20
No SH26 construction activity is planned for the week of December 22 due to holiday. SH26 construction activity will begin again on December 30 with work on the west side of SH26 from Hall-Johnson Road to Centerpark Drive including sidewalk retaining wall installation and permanent traffic signal foundation installation throughout the project limits. Irrigation installation and topsoil installation is planned to begin in near future in the center medians. No construction activity will occur on December 31 and January 1 due to holiday.
Project Update: Week of November 15
SH26 construction continues with work taking place from Brown Trail to John McCain Road to construct raised curbs on the medians, left turn lanes, and milling of temporary pavement at various locations in the southbound direction. Irrigation and topsoil installation will take place this month.
Centerpark @ SH26, eastbound and westbound, will be closed November 23 - 27 for pavement placement.
SH26 northbound and southbound at Centerpark will remain open. Motorists can use Brown Trail/Mill Valley Drive to the south and Glade Road to the north to U-turn. The intersection is expected to be opened by end of day on November 27, prior to the Thanksgiving weekend.

SH26 construction continues with the center medians from Brown Trail to Church Street receiving a cement treatment and asphalt base placement.
Construction activity in the center medians from Church Street north to John McCain Road includes construction of raised curbs on medians and left turn lanes. Irrigation installation is planned to begin in near future.
A traffic shift is planned for SH26 southbound from Hall-Johnson Road to Glade Road on Tuesday, November 12.
Project Update: Week of October 25
SH26 activity continues with construction between Centerpark Drive and Pleasant Run Creek with the installation of sidewalks, retaining walls, and lighting foundations.
Work continues in the center median from Brown Trail to Church Street with excavation of temporary pavement to be followed by earth grading and cement treatment. From Church Street to John McCain Road, workers are constructing raised curb medians and left turn lanes. Irrigation installation is planned to begin in near future.

SH26 activity continues with construction between Centerpark Drive and Pleasant Run Creek with the installation of sidewalks, retaining walls, and lighting foundations.
Traffic was switched to new northbound pavement from Centerpark Drive to Church Street on October 15 with construction activity beginning in the center medians to perform excavation.

SH26 activity continues with work between Centerpark Drive and Pleasant Run Creek including the installation of driveways, sidewalks, retaining walls, lighting foundations, and bridge rail work on the east side of the Little Bear Creek bridge. Lane striping on new northbound pavement has also started.
Construction activity has started in the center medians from Church Street to John McCain Road to construct raised curb medians and left turn lanes. The construction will be extended to Brown Trail in October.
Project Update: Week of September 27
SH26 construction activity continues with the construction of the new northbound lanes between Centerpark Drive and Pleasant Run Creek. Stamped concrete crosswalks are being installed at Glade Road, as well as driveways, sidewalks, retaining walls, lighting foundations, and bridge rails on the east side of the Little Bear Creek bridge.
Work has also begun on the center medians from Church Street to John McCain Road to construct median curbs and left turn lanes. The construction will be extended to Brown Trail in October.
The southbound inside lane from Hall-Johnson Road to Church Street will be closed from Monday, September 30 through Friday, October 4 to install permanent drainage.
In October, weather permitting, northbound traffic will be switched to new pavement from Centerpark Drive to Church Street.
Project Update: Week of September 20
Construction activity on the east side of SH26 continues with the construction of the new northbound lanes between Centerpark Drive and Pleasant Run Creek, as well as installation of driveways, sidewalks, retaining walls, and lighting foundations.
Work has begun on median curbs and left turn lanes from Church Street to John McCain Road. The construction will be extended to Brown Trail in October.
The southbound outside lane from Hall-Johnson Road to Church Street will be closed from Monday, Sept. 23 thru Friday, Sept. 27 to install permanent drainage.
Project Update: Week of September 13
Construction activity continues with driveway, retaining wall, and sidewalk construction on the east side of SH26 from Brown Trail to Thompson Terrace. Asphalt base and concrete pavement placement is taking place on the northeast corner of Glade Road and SH26. Construction activity also includes work in the center section of the roadway from John McCain to Church Street to work on center medians and left turn lanes.
The southbound inside lane from Tennison Parkway to Tinker Road and from Hall-Johnson Road to Church Street is planned to be closed beginning Monday, September 16 until Friday, September 20 for construction activity.

Construction activity this week included driveway, retaining wall, and sidewalk construction on the east side of SH26 from Brown Trail to Thompson Terrance. A traffic switch at Glade Road and SH26 was performed on Wednesday, September 4, and moved motorists to new pavement on Glade, east of SH26. Construction activity also included work in the center section of the roadway from John McCain to Church Street to work on center medians and left turn lanes.
Project Update: Week of August 30
This week, crews performed concrete pavement placement between Glade Road and Thompson Terrace. Other work included driveway and sidewalk construction on the east side of SH26 throughout the project limits and work on center medians and left turn lanes from John McCain Road to Church Street.
A traffic switch at Glade Road is planned for Wednesday, September 4, to move motorists to new pavement on the east side of SH26.
Project Update: Week of August 23
This week, crews performed main lane paving between Centerpark Drive and Pleasant Run Creek. Other work included driveway and sidewalk construction on the east side of SH26 throughout the project limits and work on center medians and left turn lanes from John McCain Road to Church Street.
Project Update: Week of August 16
This week, crews continued to place asphalt base and rebar between Centerpark Drive and Pleasant Run Creek in preparation for concrete pavement. Other work included driveway and sidewalk construction on the east side of SH26 throughout the project limits and work on center medians from John McCain Road to Church Street.

TxDOT made a presentation to Colleyville City Council in July with updates to the construction timeline. At the time of the presentation, TxDOT was not able to provide answers to many questions and concerns city council members had regarding the progress being made.

Project Update: Week of July 26
Work this week on SH26 included cement stabilization and asphalt base placement between Centerpark Drive and Pleasant Run Creek, including work at Glade Road and Old Glade Road. There was also driveway and sidewalk construction on the east side of SH26 throughout the project limits.
Project Update: Week of July 19
This week, construction activity included work on the east side of SH26 to perform excavation and begin underground storm drainage placement between Centerpark Drive and Pleasant Run Creek. Driveway, sidewalk and lighting foundation construction was also performed on the east side of SH26 from Pleasant Run Creek to John McCain.
Project Update: Week of July 12
Work continued on the east side of SH26 for excavation, storm drain placement, and sub-grade preparation between Centerpark Drive and Pleasant Run Creek. On the east side of SH26 from Pleasant Run Creek to John McCain, work included driveway, sidewalk, and lighting foundation construction.
Project Update: Week of July 5
If you drove between Centerpark and Glade, you saw the next section of construction. The contractor milled out the existing roadway and drive approaches in this area and is working diligently to place ITS conduit, set signal cabinets, etc.
With the fairly dry forecast, the contractor should make a significant progress in this area, as well as in sidewalk work, signal cabinets, and light foundations.
Project Update: Week of June 28
Work this week included driveway, sidewalk, and lighting foundation construction on the east side of SH26 from Pleasant Run Creek to John McCain Road.
Southbound traffic was switched to new pavement on the west side of SH26 from Centerpark Road to Brown Trail. Northbound traffic was also switched to the west side of SH26 from Centerpark Road to Main Street to complete the last northbound pavement section as part of phase 3.
Project Update: Week of June 21
Work this week includes continued sidewalk placement on both the north and south end of SH26. Concrete paving was performed on the southwest side of Centerpark Drive and conduit and drill shafts for signals were situated.
A traffic switch is planned for Monday, June 24, to shift southbound traffic to new pavement from Centerpark Road to Brown Trail. Another traffic switch is planned for Wednesday, June 26, to shift northbound traffic to the west side of SH26 from Brown Trail to Main Street to complete the last northbound pavement section of Phase 3 of the SH26 project.
Centerpark is scheduled to open June 27.
Project Update: Week of June 7
The contractor was able to place a substantial amount of sidewalk on both the north and south end of SH26. Cement stabilization was performed on the southwest side of Centerpark and conduit was placed for Intelligent Transportation Systems.
Next week's work includes more hot mix paving on Centerpark, concrete paving on Professional Ct., storm drain placement, and continued sidewalk placement.
Thompson Terrace Road at SH26 is closed to thru traffic and will reopen on Monday, June 10.
Centerpark is closed to thru traffic on the west side of Colleyville Blvd. through the month of June.

Hot mix asphalt concrete was placed on Thompson Terrace and Professional Ct. Several driveways, blockouts, and sidewalks were placed throughout the project as well. Conduit was installed for signals at major intersections.
Next week you will see more hot mix paving on Thompson Terrace, concrete paving on Professional Ct., storm drain placement, stabilization, and paving on Centerpark, as well as continued placement of sidewalks, blockouts, and driveways.
Thompson Terrace Road at SH26 is closed to thru traffic to place the tie-in at Main Street. The businesses at the intersection of Thompson Terrace and SH26 are still open and can be accessed by Glade Rd.
Centerpark is closed to thru traffic on the west side of Colleyville Blvd. for 3 weeks beginning May 31.

Work this week includes paving on the northwest side of Centerpark, as well as main lane paving from Centerpark to just south of Glade Rd. The contractor placed curb and gutter as well as the first layer of hot mix on Thompson Terrace. Several driveways, block-outs, and sidewalks were placed throughout the project as well as conduit for signals at major intersections.
Next week you can expect to see more hot mix paving on Thompson Terrace, concrete paving on Professional Ct., and continued placement of sidewalks, block-outs, and driveways.
Thompson Terrace Road at SH26 is closed to thru traffic for approximately three weeks to tie-in at Main Street. The businesses at the intersection of Thompson Terrace and SH26 are still open and can be accessed by Glade Rd.
Centerpark will be closed to thru traffic on the west side of Colleyville Blvd. for 3 weeks beginning May 31.

Progress has been made this week as the contractors placed main lane paving from Little Bear Creek, to just south of Centerpark. The contractor also placed hot mix on the northwest side of Centerpark. Several driveways, blockouts, and sidewalks were placed throughout the project, as well as conduit for signals at major intersections.
Next week you can expect to see more soil stabilization on Thompson Terrace, north to the new pavement, as well as concrete paving.
Thompson Terrace Road at SH26 is closed to thru traffic for approximately three weeks to tie-in at Main Street. The businesses at the intersection of Thompson Terrace and SH26 are still open and can be accessed by Glade Rd.

The contractor placed main lane paving from Little Bear Creek, to just south of Centerpark. The contractor also cement stabilized the north west side of Centerpark, as well as the main lanes from Centerpark to the Sonic entrance. Several driveways, blockouts, and sidewalk were placed throughout the project, as well as conduit for signals at major intersections.
Next week, expect to see more soil stabilization from Centerpark north to new pavement as well as hot mix placement and concrete paving. Thompson Terrace will be closed at SH26 starting Monday, May 13, and is scheduled to be closed for three weeks. The businesses will still be open. The intersection of Centerpark is scheduled to be closed Thursday, May 16 and Friday, May 17 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to place concrete paving on the north west side of Centerpark.
Thompson Terrace Road at SH 26 is planned to be closed Monday, May 13 for three weeks to tie-in at Main Street.
Project Update: Week of May 3
The contractor placed hot mix from the Little Bear Creek bridge to Centerpark Drive. There was driveway and sidewalk construction on the east side of SH26 from Pleasant Run Creek to John McCain Road and stamped concrete placement at various cross walk locations. Concrete was placed at several driveways and blockouts in the main lane paving, as well as inlet construction.
Next week you can expect to see more soil stabilization, hot mix placement, and concrete paving. There will also be placement of more driveways on the east side of the project from Hall Johnson Road to Thompson Terrace.
Due to the amount of rain we have received this week, the Thompson Terrace Road closure at SH26 is being postponed. The road will now be closed starting Monday, May 13 and last for approximately three weeks to finalize the tie-in at Main Street.
Project Update: Week of April 26
This week, the contractor was able to pave the northern half of Bransford Road and perform cement stabilization from Bransford Road to just north of Centerpark Drive. The contractor also completed storm drain placement in the Centerpark Drive area. On the east side, the contractor has work on main lane paving block outs, driveway placement, and drill shaft placement.
Next week you can expect to see more soil stabilization near Centerpark Drive, as well as hot mix placement and concrete paving.

This week, work included the placement of underground storm drain, concrete paving, inlet placement, as well as driveway and drill shaft placement. Weather has hampered the workers a little, but they will be working on Friday to get back on track.
Next week you can expect to see more underground drainage being placed on the west side of SH26, north of Centerpark. There will also be soil stabilization, hot mix asphalt placement and concrete paving, and driveway and sidewalk placement throughout the project.
Project Update: Week of April 5
The contractor placed stamped, colored concrete at Church Street and Professional Court. The placement of 8’x6’ culvert boxes across Centerpark was completed and workers are now placing 48” reinforced concrete pipe.
Next week you can expect to see more underground drainage being placed near Centerpark Drive as well as more concrete paving of driveways and main lane. An additional contractor is coming in to start installing sidewalk.
Centerpark Drive will by closed Wednesday, April 10 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Project Update: Week of March 29
The contractor has placed the 8’ x 6’ box culverts up to Centerpark Drive. Work will cross Centerpark Drive this weekend, March 30-31. The contractor has also placed stamped, colored concrete at Hall-Johnson and Church Street. The paving contractor paved the remaining section of main lane paving from Hall-Johnson to just north of Thompson Terrace. The bridge contractor has replaced the rail of the bridge that had been removed.
Centerpark Drive west of SH26 will be closed on Friday, 3/29 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for construction activity. The road will also be closed over the weekend, starting at 7 a.m. on Saturday. Please use Glade Road as a detour.

This week, crews placed cement stabilization at Industrial Blvd., placed hot mix asphalt from Hall- Johnson Rd. to Church St., and continued placing 8'x5' box culverts for underground drainage. Crews also tied steel in preparation of placing concrete.

SH 26 is on schedule to have an estimated completion of December 2019. However, landscaping will continue into January and February of 2020.
This week, the contractor placed underground drainage at the Church St. intersection as well as the storm drain inlets. The contractor also worked last Sunday, for minimal impact on businesses and drivers, doing a water tie-in that will now allow them to continue placing box culverts on the northwest side of Little Bear Creek, past Bransford Road and Centerpark Drive. This work will begin on Monday and be complete in mid March.

This week, rain hampered the contractor a bit, but they continue to march forward. Workers placed storm drains, storm drain inlets, and concrete paving at Thompson Terrace, as well as block-outs and driveways between John McCain and Hall-Johnson. They have also started placing steel for concrete paving from Hall Johnson to Church St.
Project Update: Week of February 8
Recent work on SH26 includes the placement of main lane paving from Oak Point to Hall Johnson. The contractor is also placing concrete driveways and block-outs as well as storm drain from Church Street to Hall-Johnson.
The recently constructed bridge north of the intersection of Brown Trail and SH26 has resulted in some concrete irregularities. Due to these irregularities, the bridge will have to be redone. This reconstruction is necessary to ensure the quality and the integrity of the new bridge that spans over Little Bear Creek is achieved and maintained. There is no word yet in how this will impact the overall construction schedule for SH26.

The contractor has started placing concrete paving in the block-outs from John McCain, southbound, towards Ross Downs. They have also placed hot-mix asphalt from Oak Pointe Drive to Hall-Johnson. Drainage is being placed between Thompson Terrace and Church St. as well as street inlets in the same area. Placement work has also started of stamped, colored concrete at Industrial and Tarrant Lane.

This week, work on SH26 included cement stabilization and asphalt base placement on east side of SH 26 from Tinker Road south to Hall-Johnson Road. Traffic on Hall-Johnson Road, on the east side of SH26, switched to a new lane configuration on Tuesday. Thompson Terrace Road at SH26 has been re-opened with right-in and right-out access only.
The contractor will be off from December 22nd thru Jan 2nd for the holidays.
The contractor will perform a traffic switch at Church Street on January 7.
Project Update December 7
This week, work on SH26 included concrete paving at the Hall Johnson and Church Street intersection. The contractor is also doing main lane paving on SH26 from Tennison Parkway, moving south.
Next week the contractor will continue main lane concrete paving from approximately Ross Downs south to Oak Pointe.
The Contractor plans on swapping traffic at Church Street on December 18 and Hall Johnson on December 13 to have the new configuration in place before Christmas.

This week, work on SH26 included the placement of concrete paving at Hall Johnson Road.
Next week, residents can expect to see concrete paving work from around Tennison Parkway to Oak Point. Contractors will also continue storm drain placement from Oak Pointe Drive.
Thompson Terrace is expected to reopen by the end of next week. The street will only be accessible by right turns from cars driving north on SH26, no left turns will be permitted at this time.

With the short week, the contractor has worked from sun up to sun down. The contractor placed storm drain and storm drain inlets starting at Oak Pointe and moving south.

The arctic blast slowed construction down on SH26 this week as work performed must meet weather specifications. The contractor was able to stabilize the sub-grade from Tarrant Lane southbound to Tinker Road.

Contractors have performed concrete paving on the east side of SH26 from John McCain headed south. They have stabilized the sub-grade from Ross Downs to Tarrant Lane, part of the intersection at Tarrant, and the intersection at Hall-Johnson. They are in the process of placing storm drain and storm drain inlets starting at Oak Pointe and moving south.

Next week you can expect to see more cement stabilization at Hall Johnson as well as concrete paving starting at the north end and headed south.

Workers have started excavating and back-filling the southbound bridge approach slab in preparation of concrete placement on Little Bear Creek Bridge. The contractors continue to place waterline under SH26 and storm drain at and around Tarrant Lane.They are also placing storm drain inlets from John McCain Road up to Ross Downs. The contractor has also performed cement stabilization from John McCain, northbound, to just south of Ross Downs.
Next week, we anticipate more cement stabilization being performed towards Tinker as well as hot mix placement from John McCain towards Tinker. Concrete paving will take place on the south end, from Mill Valley southbound and from Mill Valley, north, towards Little Bear Creek Bridge.
Project Update September 21
Beginning Tuesday, September 25, eastbound traffic on Church Street will be reduced to one lane and westbound traffic will have two lanes. The contractor will remove the existing paving and start with the reconstruction on the south side. The traffic switch on Hall Johnson will take place on Thursday, September 27. The traffic switch will last about eight to twelve weeks.
This week the contractor will do the final concrete pour on the Little Bear Creek bridge. Roadway excavation and embankment continues from Thompson Terrace to the Pleasant Run Creek Box Bridge. The contractor is continuing to place storm drain along the east side of SH26 near Tarrant Lane and is also boring the new waterline at Bransford Road.
Project Update September 7
Concrete placement is underway on the west side of SH26 south of the Little Bear Creek bridge as well as asphalt/concrete removal and excavation of the old northbound lanes on the east side of SH26 from Pleasant Run to Tinker Road. Storm drains are being installed on the east side of the project near Ross Downs Drive. The intersections of Tarrant Lane, Industrial Blvd., and Professional Ct. will also be widened with temporary Hot Mixed Asphalt Concrete (HMAC) as the contractors begin work on these intersections.

This week, contractors are working on the foundation of the Pleasant Run Creek Bridge. Roadway excavation and embankment is also being performed from Hall Johnson to Main Street. The contractor is also placing storm drains along the east side of SH26 from Tennison going south. You can also expect to see concrete paving at the intersection of Oak Pointe. We also expect boring to begin at Bransford for a new waterline installation.

Construction activity this week will include concrete crosswalk placement on the west side of SH26 near Mill Valley Road, substructure work on the west side at the Little Bear Creek bridge, asphalt/concrete removal and excavation of the old northbound lanes from Pleasant Run to John McCain Road, and stabilization and asphalt placement on the east side of SH 26 near Tinker Road/Oak Pointe Drive.
The southbound outside lane from south of Centerpark Drive to Brown Trail will be closed on Monday, August 6 and Tuesday, August 7 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day for beam setting operations related to the Little Bear Creek Bridge construction.

The City of Colleyville, the Colleyville Chamber of Commerce, and other Colleyville non-profits have joined forces and will be hosting an informational presentation regarding the final stages of the SH26 Project. The purpose of the partnership between the City and the other groups is to help support local businesses during the SH26 Project. All Colleyville business owners and general managers are invited.

Beginning Monday, July 23, crews will make north bound traffic one lane from just south of Main St. to Hall Johnson Road. This is so the contractor can begin cutting and excavating the new temporary driveways to businesses and neighborhoods. This work is expected to last 2-3 days. Expect delays during this time frame.

Project Update June 20
The City will be hosting an open house for business owners and residents regarding updates on the transition to Phase III of the SH26 Project.
With the exception of repairs, work on Phase II has been completed ahead of schedule. As a result of this, work on Phase III will start earlier than initially planned and the overall project will be completed sooner than originally proposed.
The open house is on Wednesday, June 27 from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Colleyville Center, located at 5301 Riverwalk Drive.
City staff and TxDOT officials will be present to answer questions and review project details.
