The Public Works Department ensures that adequate supplies of clean and safe drinking water are provided throughout the year and that the wastewater collection system operates at optimum capacity.

We maintain and operate the water distribution system, consisting of approximately 209 miles of water mains; 9,931 water meters; and 1,450 fire hydrants. We also maintain and operate three elevated water towers, two water pumping facilities, and one ground storage tank. Additionally, we maintain and operate the wastewater collection system consisting of 173 miles of wastewater mains; 2,690 manholes; and three wastewater pumping facilities.

My sewer is backed up. Does the City fix that?
If the clog is on the property owner's side of the service connection, it is the property owner's responsibility to repair. Please call the Service Center at 817.503.1360 for an on-site assessment if required.
I have a broken water line. Does the City fix that?
If the line is on the property owner's side of the water meter, it is the property owner's responsibility to repair. Please call the Service Center at 817-503-1360 for an on-site assessment if required.
Where does our water come from?
The city of Colleyville purchases treated water from the Tarrant County Water Supply Project. This water treatment plant is operated by the Trinity River Authority (TRA) which also supplies water to Bedford, Euless, portions of Grapevine and North Richland Hills.
Where does our wastewater go to be treated?
Colleyville's wastewater is treated by the TRA at the Central Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant located in Grand Prairie. This plant treats the wastewater from 26 cities in the area.
What is the hardness of my water?
The hardness of the water ranges from 80 mg/l to 130 mg/l
Is my water tested?
Yes, the city submits 24 bacteriological samples each month. We are required by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to submit these samples and also monitor the chlorine residual daily. These samples are collected at various sites throughout the city. We also test for lead and copper in the water.
Is Colleyville part of the DIG TESS one-call system for locating underground utilities?
The city is not part of the DIG TESS one-call system. To locate underground utilities other than city water and sewer lines, call 1.800.DIGTESS a minimum of 48 hours prior to digging. To locate water and sewer lines, click HERE for information.
